ARTStem is dedicated to forging a deep and innovative relationship between UNCSA faculty and public school educators by promoting collaborations that explore the relationship between learning and teaching in the arts and the so-called “STEM” disciplines of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. During 2009-2010, ARTStem involved a group of eighteen faculty from across UNCSA and R.J. Reynolds High School. This year, ARTStem aims to generate a series of faculty projects that will bring ARTStem core ideas to a broader set of students, instructors, and staff at both institutions.
